The church of Oprah exposed
It seems like the ultimate human-made religion. Sounds like it started because Oprah saw fit to judge God and His revelation, and it all went downhill from there.
Amazing that millions are following blindly.
Don’t get confused, hers is not a Christian faith or church.

Why You Shouldn’t Worry About Jeremiah Wright, and Why You Should
Russell D. Moore hits the nail on the head with this article.
Liberation theology is designed to “liberate” us from Scriptural truth, and make us advance the things of the world instead of the things of the Word.
“It is finished”

Joh 19:30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
On this most solemn day, where we commemorate the crucifixion, we look at the last words that Jesus said before He paid the price for our sins.”It is finished.” He said. [...]

The Glory of Christ in his Love (Part 1)
by Dr. John Owen
In the susception and discharge of the mediatory office by the Son of God, the Scripture doth most eminently represent,—
II. His LOVE, as the sole impelling and leading cause thereof, Gal 2:20; 1 John 3:16; Rev 1:5.
Herein is he glorious, in [...]
The ontology of chance
Posted in Apologetics on March 14, 2008 | 1 Comment »
It happened by chance. No, seriously, we are all here because of chance. It is the uncaused first cause, it is the beginning, it is the omnipotent power that has taken the place of any metaphysical entity, it is, in short, the power that killed God.
Of course, that is highly absurd. Logic rests upon the [...]
Experience and the Bible

As someone who has taken a lot of flack from my fellow believers for questioning the literal reading of Genesis 1, I often wonder about how our experience shape how we read Scripture.
The number one accusation, which by the way has lead to me being called a heretic by some, is always that “you read [...]

“Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe [...]
Canonicity of the OT

So how do we know that the right books are in the Bible, and specifically the OT? There are loads of ancient Jewish writings, many of which refer to the Judeo-Christian God.
Briefly, there are standards. “Canon” means nothing more than standard or measure. While there are many ways in which we can set and apply [...]
“Judge not, lest you be judged”

I’d venture to say that this is the most abused verse in the Bible. The poll over at the Covenant Theology blog seems to bear this out. Non-Christians are especially fond of quoting this verse in debates, seemingly thinking that this is supposed to disarm the Christian’s right to point out fallacies in their [...]
Sovereign or not?

Can God be half-sovereign? Or not be sovereign at all, and still be God?
Lately, there has been all sorts of contortions and mis-characterizations around the nature of God, especially His sovereignty, emanating from liberal “Christians”, armchair religionists and atheistic philosophers.
For me, all of these criticisms fall into the straw man argument category, because the moment [...]
