John Piper writes a good piece on the resurrection. It is well worth the read:
8 reasons why I believe that Jesus rose from the dead
Summary:
1. Jesus himself testified to his coming resurrection from the dead.
2. The tomb was empty on Easter.
3. The disciples were almost immediately transformed from men who were [...]

The Jesus DNA – critical assessment
Posted in Apologetics on February 28, 2007 | Leave a Comment »
One thing that is mentioned in passing in the Jesus Tomb documentary is the DNA testing. It immediately struck me as odd that they will release fairly detailed supporting documents for all other “evidence”, but that the DNA analysis is not really shown in detail anywhere.
I previously commented on the types of DNA needed for [...]

Platinga reviews Dawkins

Dr. Alvin Platinga, professor of philosophy at Notre Dame, gives his review of Dawkins “God Delusion”.
The Dawkins Confusion
It is not pretty…
“You might say that some of his forays into philosophy are at best sophomoric, but that would be unfair to sophomores; the fact is (grade inflation aside), many of his arguments would receive a failing [...]

Tonight, I thank my Father in heaven for His mercy, His love and longsuffering of my sins. I also thank Him that I may stand shoulder to shoulder with those who are for Him, and not against Him.
Mat 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me [...]

Lost Tomb of Jesus
You can go to that website and explore the case the authors are trying to make.
As expected, they expect us to make several leaps of faith here. I have not spent too much time there, but can already see several holes in the case:
1. They want us to believe that Mary Magadalene [...]
The Jesus Tomb

Initially I thought that this was so inane that it was not worth spending much time on, but it seems to be getting a lot of press in the mainstream media. There is a claim that the remains of the “Holy Family”, including Jesus, Mary and Joseph was found in 1980 in a tomb in [...]

Irrelevance of evolutionary evidence
Posted in Evolution on February 22, 2007 | Leave a Comment »
Once again, the evolutionists are out in full force to protect the failing theory all over the world. Emboldened by the rhetoric of Dawkins and his ilk, and armed with their normal arsenal of ad-hominems, they claim victory. A bit prematurely, if I may say so.
The truth is that contrary to the claims of these [...]
Strawmen & dead horse flogging

Iggy left some comments here on an older post around Lordship Salvation. The comment is a rehash of some of the objections already answered in that post: Conversation with Lou
I published Iggy’s comments, but do so somewhat hesitantly since there is a lot of follow-up in subsequent posts.
Iggy raises the normal strawman arguments of Lordship [...]
