The first miracle of Jesus was changing water into wine. As we approach the new year festivities, I often hear that quoted as an excuse to indulge in some alcoholic drinks for celebratory purposes. If Jesus Himself created wine, then surely we are justified in having a sip or two.
Consistent with our theme of the [...]

How many times do we say that we will do something, but then put it off until later?
God does not do that. (Just imagine if He did!). In John 4 we read about this, that one of God’s characteristics is that His word has immediate effect.
Joh 4:47 When this man heard that Jesus had [...]

One often stands in awe and wonder at the ways in which God chooses to share His wisdom. If you are anything like me, you often wonder why God chose to put specific things in the Bible. One such instance seems to be pretty straightforward:
Joh 2:13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, [...]

Fulfilling the great commission:
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

When a baby is born, one stands in awe. For me, the greatest highlight of my life, the greatest thrill, was to be there when my children were born. To see them take their first breath, to see their eyes open for the first time, to hear their voices for the first time. And after [...]

Psa 119:89 Lamedh. Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.
Psa 119:90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. (ESV)
What a statement we have here. The word of God is fixed forever in heaven. Nothing can change it. It stands fast.
Forever [...]

Yesterday I sat through one of the most curious sermons I have ever heard. Let’s start with a pop quiz. What do all the following verses tell you?
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
2Co 3:18 [...]
Christian relationships

The relativist/humanist crowd has a problem. They hang on to the words of Freud: ” …libidinal complement to the egoism of the instinct of self-preservation…”. Or in simple english, our self is so important that desire for self-preservation is instinctively as strong as our libido. Out of which follows that we do everything in our [...]
Only one mediator

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (ESV)
This verse is powerful. It describes the essence of Christianity in one sentence.
1. There is one God. There are no others. He is the only one, true, omnipotent, sovereign ruler of heaven and earth. [...]
